- Parents' Guide to Google Classroom - Printed Version
- What is Google Classroom? Think of Google Classroom (GC) as your child’s digital link to learning. Teachers use GC to share assignments, homework, newsletters, and much more with students AND parents!
Getting Started - Your child was provided with a secure login and password that is unique to them. Check with his/her teacher to obtain this private information!
- Click on the Google Chrome browser icon.
- Type www.google.com into your web address bar.
- Click on SIGN IN in the upper right hand corner of the browser window.
- Type in your child’s Google Email address & click “next.”
- Type in your PASSWORD & click “next.”
Now you’ll see that you are signed in to your Google Apps for Education account!
- Google Suite — Click on the 9 squares (Waffle/Rubik’s Cube) icon in the top right hand corner to see the Google Suite of Products!

Navigating the Classroom
- Click on the waffle button and then the Google Classroom icon.
- Click on the class you wish to view.

Access Anywhere: Android, iPhone, Tablet, and Desktop. Google Apps allow you to edit Google assignments from any devise that is connected to the internet. Download Google Apps from the Apple Store or Get It On Google Play.

Logging Into Your Colquitt County School District Chromebook - Printed Version
- Power On - Open and power on the Chromebook using the power button located on the keyboard or side of the device.
- Enter Student Number - Type your student number on the login screen. The domain @stu.colquitt.k12.ga.us is usually pre-filled. If missing, type the full email: number@stu.colquitt.k12.ga.us.
- Enter Password - Enter your randomized password. This is a secure mixture of letters and numbers. Do not share your password with anyone! Login Successful! - Once logged in, you can access instructional programs like Google Classroom via the waffle in Chrome browser.
Signing Out - To Log Off Properly
- Hover over the date and time in the bottom-right toolbar.
- A window will pop up with device info.
- Click the Sign out button at the top of the window.
Pro-tip: You can also just close the Chromebook lid to log off. Press the physical power button to completely TURN OFF the device.
Student Directions: Google Classroom Login - Printed Version
Students using school-issued Chromebooks log in with their student number/password or a Clever badge. Access programs via the Chrome browser once logged in.
From a Desktop or a Laptop:
- Visit classroom.google.com using Chrome.
- Login with your full school email: studentnumber@stu.colquitt.k12.ga.us and click NEXT.
- Enter your password and click NEXT.
- Your Dashboard displays all active classrooms (appearance varies by teacher).
- Click a Classroom tile to access Stream or Classwork materials.
On a Mobile Device:
- Download the free Google Classroom App from the app store.
- Log in using your full student email and school password.
- Access the Dashboard to see your Classrooms.
- Download free Drive, Docs, Slides, and Sheets apps for assignments.
Accessing other Programs via Google: Click the waffle icon (top right) to see other programs. Scroll through the menu to find specific apps.
