Colquitt County High School Names Justin Stewart Head Lady Packers Tennis Coach
Colquitt County High School is proud to announce Coach Justin Stewart as the new Head Lady Packers Tennis Coach. Coach Stewart brings a strong passion for tennis, valuable coaching experience, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court.
Coach Stewart has been passionate about tennis since he first picked up a racket at the age of five. He grew up playing on school teams and competing in USTA tournaments throughout the Southeast. His background as both a player and coach has helped shape his approach to building competitive, character-driven programs.
As the Varsity Assistant Coach at Thomasville High School, Coach Stewart was named the 2021 Region 1-AA Assistant Coach of the Year. Throughout his coaching career, he has helped lead teams to multiple Middle School Conference Runner-Up finishes, as well as a GHSA Elite 8 appearance. Over the last several seasons, he has also played an important role in the development and growth of the Lady Packers Tennis program.
“I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunity to serve as the Head Girls Tennis Coach at Colquitt County High School,” Coach Stewart said. “I look forward to building a program rooted in integrity, competitiveness, and passion while helping our student-athletes grow both on and off the court. Go Pack!”
Colquitt County Athletic Director Cleve Edwards shared his confidence in Coach Stewart’s leadership and vision for the program.
“Coach Stewart is a familiar face to the girls tennis program,” Edwards said. “He has done an excellent job developing the girls in our program over the last four to five seasons. He has some great ideas for continuing growth in our girls tennis program.”
Colquitt County High School Principal Dr. Chris Merritt also expressed excitement about Coach Stewart stepping into this role.
“Coach Justin Stewart brings the experience, passion, and character we want leading our Lady Packers Tennis program,” Merritt said. “His commitment to developing student-athletes on and off the court, along with his proven coaching background and strong connection to the Packer family, makes him a great fit to lead our Lady Packers.”
Coach Stewart’s wife, Kate, is also proud to serve as a Packer in the classroom at Colquitt County High School. Together, they have three children — Magnolia, 8; Russell, 5; and Teddy, 2. As a family, they enjoy spending time on the tennis court and cheering on the Packers every chance they get.
As Coach Stewart takes over the Lady Packers Tennis program, Colquitt County High School looks forward to continued growth built on integrity, competitiveness, passion, work ethic, academic commitment, and community pride.
