Colquitt County High School has officially named the top two scholars for the Class of 2026, honoring Willis McCranie as Valedictorian and Jack Kirksey as Salutatorian.
Valedictorian – Willis McCranie
Willis McCranie takes the top spot as Valedictorian. A standout academic, McCranie was also recently recognized as the school’s 2026 STAR Student, an honor earned by achieving the highest score on a single test date for the SAT and ranking in the top 10 percent of his class. McCranie was also involved in the CCHS Robotics, Cross Country, and Tennis teams. In addition, he is a competitive trap and skeet shooter with Bridge Creek Clays. He plans to attend Georgia Tech to study Mechanical Engineering.
Salutatorian – Jack Kirksey
Joining him at the podium is Salutatorian Jack Kirksey. A leader both in and out of the classroom, Kirksey served as the National Honor Society president and competed on the varsity tennis team. A Governor’s Honors Program finalist with a passion for literacy, Kirksey is an active member of First Baptist Church and a dedicated community volunteer. He plans to attend the University of Georgia to study Political Science or Journalism.
Both students will lead their peers during the upcoming commencement ceremonies, marking a pinnacle of academic excellence for Colquitt County.
