Mrs. Trudie M. Hill accepts appointments to state committee

Colquitt County Board of Education member Mrs. Trudie M. Hill, a retired educator, has been selected to serve on the 2026 Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA) Governmental Operations Committee (GOC).  Mrs. Hill has proudly served the school district and the Colquitt County communities for many years.  She began her service on the Board of Education in June of 2004 and has given her time and talents locally and at the state level on many occasions.

"The Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA) is honored to have Mrs. Trudie Hill of the Colquitt County Board of Education on the Governmental Operations Committee," said Valarie Wilson, Executive Director of GSBA.

The GSBA President annually appoints members to this committee after considerable deliberation with the staff and the Board of Directors.  As a member of this committee, Mrs. Hill will represent the local school board and the interests of all of Georgia's school boards.

The GOC's responsibilities are considerable, and the committee's role is critical to education.  GOC members will offer recommendations for legislative positions to be voted on at the 2026 Georgia School Boards Association Summer Conference & Delegate Assembly in June.

"The Colquitt County School District is proud to have Ms. Trudie Hill representing our district on the GSBA Governmental Operations Committee," shared Superintendent Dan Chappuis.  "With her extensive experience and commitment to public education, Ms. Hill will serve as a strong voice and dedicated advocate for our students, staff, and community while contributing to the important work of this committee."

Mrs. Hill shared her thoughts on her appointment, "I am deeply honored to accept the position as a member of the 2026 State Governmental Operations Committee.  As a passionate advocate for all students, I am truly excited about the opportunity to serve alongside and collaborate with other members of the committee.  This position enables me to make a positive, educational impact on the lives of students across the State of Georgia.  I am indeed grateful to the Georgia School Board Association for the opportunity to serve."

The first meeting of the committee will take place in April.
