Colquitt County Retired Educators Wall of Fame Welcomes 2025 Inductees

The Colquitt County School District, in partnership with the Colquitt County Retired Educators Association (CCREA), proudly announces the newest members of the Colquitt County Retired Educators Wall of Fame.

Following the successful launch of the Wall of Fame in 2024—which honored five distinguished retired educators for their outstanding contributions to education and community service—the tradition continued this fall with the induction of nine additional honorees.

The 2025 Wall of Fame Inductees are:

  • Juanita F. Dorminey | 1933 – 1976
  • Trudie M. Hill | 1969 – 2004
  • Stanley Floyd Faison | 1958 – 1992
  • John Greene, Jr. | 1978 – 2002
  • Brady Brock | 1964 – 1994
  • Bobbie Key | 1978 – 2009
  • Mary M. Gibson | 1983 – 2015
  • Samuel Stewart | 1962 – 1993
  • Eula Armstrong Willis | 1970 – 1996

These educators exemplify a lifelong dedication to student success, leadership, and service—each leaving a lasting mark on Colquitt County’s schools and community.

The Colquitt County Retired Educators Wall of Fame was established in 2024 with the induction of five inaugural members: Lloyd Dorminey, Jestina LewisBilly Mock,  Patricia M. Merritt, and LaRue Norris

This year’s ceremony featured the addition of names of the 2025 Inductees on the Retired Educators Wall of Fame, designed and installed by Red Clay Sign Co., as a lasting tribute to the commitment and influence of Colquitt County’s retired educators.

“The Wall of Fame serves as a way to honor those who dedicated their lives to shaping future generations,” said Superintendent Dan Chappuis. “We are proud to celebrate their legacies and preserve their stories for years to come.”

The Retired Educators Wall of Fame will continue as an annual fall event, recognizing the lifetime achievements of educators whose work has strengthened the foundation of Colquitt County education. The CCREA handles all nominations and selects the inductees annually. The Colquitt County High School Ag Program creates a custom plaque for each inductee and their names are added to a leaf on the Wall of Fame tree located just inside Wither Auditorium.
