Goal of the counseling program

The goal of the Norman Park Elementary School Counseling Program is to deliver a comprehensive program to address the academic, personal/social, and career development of all studetns.  Development in these areas are addressed through classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling, and individualized counseling sessions.  Classroom guidance is taught, by the school counselor, to all students in kindergarten through fifth grade. These lessons focus on the character education theme of  the month, the Georgia Department of Education's career lessons, and personal safety and abuse prevention lessons (Monique Burr Foundation).
