Please know that your school family is here to assist any way possible. No student should go without having the basic essentials. Your school social worker can assist with school supplies, coats, shoes, backpacks, etc.

Living in a rural community often comes with unique challenges. These could include a lack of transportation, grocery stores, food pantries and food banks that are miles away, job opportunities that are more concentrated in low-wage industries, and higher unemployment rates. In some situations, food insecurity may occur.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) defines food insecurity as a lack of consistent access to enough food for and active, healthy life as well as enough available financial resources for food at the household level.

If you are experiencing food insecurity, please see the information on resources in this section or call Hamilton School Social Worker, Arden Folsom at 229-941-5594 ext. 14053.
