About Us

Hamilton is a community-based school that provides quality education for all students.  Hamilton Elementary was opened in 1956 and renovated in 2005.  Hamilton is family to our students and parents.  Hamilton Elementary School is a rural school with 222 students in Pre-kindergarten through grade five. We are recognized as Title I schoolwide. Hamilton Elementary School has 13 classrooms staffed by 100% highly qualified teachers. In addition, there are 3 special education resource teachers and a media specialist. The school counselor is also our school social worker.  We have a  PE teacher, a STEM/Ag teacher, and a Music Teacher. We have two full-time custodians and a staff of 4 in School Food Service.

While we are located in a farming community, less than half of our parents farm or are in farm-related businesses. We have a significant number of parents that have earned college degrees and serve in the medical field, financial planning, and law enforcement. We are proud to partner with the Moultrie YMCA for  the SPLASH program for 2nd-grade students to learn water safety and to participate in swimming lessons. Moultrie Recreation Department keeps us informed of extra-curricular activities they offer during the school year such as basketball, football, cheering and soccer as well as summer activities. These partnerships help keep our children active in a state where childhood obesity is high.

We are excited that our school was selected to be one of the few schools to be in the Elementary Ag pilot program.  We are fully committed to our elementary Ag program.  Our school has secured over $35,000 in grant money to run and sustain our Ag program.  We have been awarded the Title I Reward award for continuous student growth on state assessments.
