Okapilco Student Activities

  • Junior BETA Club 
    The Okapilco Junior BETA Club is a part of the National Beta Club, the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America. For more than 80 years, it has prepared today's students to be tomorrow's leaders. Membership is an honor bestowed upon fourth and fifth grade students at Okapilco by invitation because of their outstanding qualities in academic leadership and character. The mission is: To promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students. The club motto is: Let us lead by serving others. The purpose of the club is to promote leadership, academic excellence, service, and character.

  • Soccer 
    Fourth and fifth grade students can sign up to be on the school soccer team.  This is usually sponsored through the YMCA.  Call the front office for more details. (229-890-6191)

  • 4-H Club 
    All 4th and 5th grade students participate in 4-H Club.

  • Okapilco Morning Show Anchors 
    Available to all 4th and 5th grade students.  If a student is interested in becoming a Morning Show News Anchor, they must submit a completed application.  Once all applications have been submitted, a committee will then review and decide from all applications.

  • Flag Patrol 
    Students submit a completed application.  School administration will then decide on individuals to members of the Flag Patrol Team. 
    Our Okapilco Flag Patrol ensures that our US and Georgia flags are put up and brought down with care and respect, making sure that the flags fly at an appropriate height for all occasions.

  • Indian Hall Patrol - These students have been assigned Leadership positions as a hall monitor to certain areas at the school while others have been assigned to classrooms to assist the teachers in the morning with various jobs duties and responsibilities.

  • Indian Readers - Students are assigned to specific grade levels and classrooms to be a buddy reader.  
    Club Advisors:  Nancy Kent and Cynthia Robinson
