School Counselor: Cindy Williams

Hi!  My name is Cindy Williams and I am the School Counselor.  This is my first year at Cox Elementary.  However, I have served as a school counselor to students in grades k-12 for over 19 years.  I truly believe in the importance of wrap-around services.  Focusing on serving the family gives students the best possible chance for success.  If they can dream it, they can become it.  I am honored to be a part of the Cox family

GOAL OF THE COUNSELING PROGRAM

The goal of the Cox Elementary School Counseling Program is to deliver a comprehensive program to
address the academic, personal and social development of all students.  Development in these areas are
addressed through classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling, and individualized counseling
sessions.  Classroom guidance is taught by the school counselor to all students in kindergarten through
fifth grade. These lessons focus on the character education, social skills, coping with big feelings, and
personal safety and abuse prevention lessons (Monique Burr Foundation).
