COUNSELOR / SOCIAL WORKER SERVICES

WELCOME

My name is Taffee Redding, and I’m the Counselor and Social Worker at Doerun Elementary.  I work alongside teachers and parents to help students develop socially and emotionally and to help remove barriers to learning.  Here you will find information on services and resources that are available for students and families at Doerun Elementary.

Counseling services include classroom lessons teaching character development, careers, and safety, short-term individual counseling, and referrals to community resources (including long-term therapy).  Social work services assist with food resources, school supplies, coats, shoes, backpacks, and community agency information.

Please know that your school family is here to assist in any way possible.  Please contact me with questions or concerns you may have, and I’ll be happy to help!

COMMUNITY COUNSELING SERVICES

We all have different feelings and emotions. Some days we can be happy, other days sad.  It’s important to know that feeling sad, scared, or nervous all the time is a sign that something is not right. It’s okay for parents and students to ask for help.  If you believe that your child needs other outside professional help, a list of resources is available on the Colquitt County School District’s website. You can also contact the school and speak with Taffee Redding, Counselor, at 229-782-5276.
