CLUBS

•Art Club provides extended opportunities for students to create art for the classroom and school community. It is offered to 4th and 5th graders, once per week from 2:30-3:30, beginning in January.  
Purpose:  Art Club is a way for your child to further their experience in Art at R.B.Wright Elementary
Club Advisor:  Ty Sutz
Activities:  Club members create age appropriate artwork using a variety of media, as well as help design and paint murals for our school.

•Junior BETA Club is open to 4th and 5th graders who maintain an 85 or above average in all academic areas after the second grading period.
Purpose:  BETA Club encourages effort, rewards merit, and reinforces good citizenship.
Club Advisors:  Caroline Glenn/Amy Grobe/Hayley Jarvis/Grabiela Ramirez
Activities: school service projects, end-of-year trip, student scholarships

•Student Government Association (SGA) provides leadership opportunities as officers and board members. 
Purpose:  SGA exists to provide students with an opportunity to voice ideas that will have a positive impact on our school and our community.
Club Advisors:  Hayley Jarvis and Caroline Glenn 
Activities:  school and community projects, Homecoming float, sale of Packer favors, fundraisers, student scholarships

•TOME Reading Bowl Team is open to 4th and 5th graders
Purpose:  promotes a passion for reading
Club Advisors: Susie Strange
Activities:  read and discuss children's literature and participation in reading bowls

•R. B. Wright Choir- 2nd -5th grade students
Purpose:learn proper vocal technique and production, music reading skills, sight singing skills, performance skills, leadership, and team building skills
Faculty Advisor: Ingrid Wingate 
Activities:  Participation in weekly rehearsals (2:30-3:15) and formal concert performances outside of school is required 

•R. B. Wright Tone Chimes 3rd -5th grade students
Purpose: learn and read music 
Faculty Advisor: Ingrid Wingate 
Activities:  Participation in weekly rehearsals

•Safety Patrol-5th Grade students
Purpose: support a positive school climate 
Faculty Advisor: Eric Wingate 
Activities: Assist guests, welcome visitors and help students get to class safely

•Flag Attendants-5th Grade students
Purpose: assist in handling of the flag 
Faculty Advisor: David Griner 
Activities: Raise and lower the flag each day as appropriate. 

•Theatre Performing Arts Club - 2nd-5th grade students 
Purpose: focus on Georgia Theater Arts Standards learning and contextualizing theatre arts vocabulary through rehearsals and a musical performance
Faculty Advisor: Ingrid Wingate 
Activities: Participation in weekly rehearsals (2:30-3:15) and formal stage performances is required

•4-H is available to all 4th and 5th graders and is held during designated class time.
Purpose:  “I pledge my HEAD to clearer thinking, my HEART to greater loyalty, my HANDS to larger service, and my HEALTH to better living, for my club, my community, my country, and my World.”
Club Advisors:  4th and 5th Grade Teachers, 4-H Representatives
Activities:  updated at monthly meetings

•Choosing Healthy Activities and Methods Promoting Safety (CHAMPS) is available to 5th graders and is completed during designated time during the school day.
Purpose:  CHAMPS provides students with the skills to avoid involvement in drugs, violence, gangs, negative peer pressures, etc.
Club Advisors:  5th Grade Teachers, Colquitt County Sheriff’s Representative
Activities:  classroom activities, graduation ceremony
