Washington D.C. Trip for 4th and 5th Graders

U.S. Capital Building

This year's 4th/5th grade Washington DC trip will be help on March 29 - April 3.  While on the trip, we will be staying at the beautiful Gaylord Hotel in Washington DC.  We will be visiting sites such as the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and the US Capital.

The cost of the trip is $895.  Mr. Tommy, our guide, said that the cost might go up slightly because he has not heard back from the tour bus company on the cost of buses yet.  There is a $300 per person deposit required to hold your reservation.  This deposit is applied toward the total cost of the trip.  After September 30, the deposit is non-refundable since this money is used to pay for hotel, bus, and ticket reservations.  Please send checks/money order or cash to Ms. Jennifer Key for 5th grade students and Mrs. Turrah Benton for 4th grade students.  Checks should be made out to Norman Park Elementary School.

A list will be made as deposits are paid.  The first 50 people to pay the deposit will be on the first bus and we will start adding people to a waiting list.  When we reach 75 people, we will have the second bus.

Parents who would like to go on the trip are welcome to join us.  The cost for the parent is the same as the cost for the student.  Since this is a school field trip, parents must remember they may be responsible for other children and will have other children in the hotel room with them.

You are responsible for one meal per day during the trip.  These meals are typically fast food meals.

We will be doing fundraisers to help defray the cost of the trip.  You do not have to participate in the fundraisers.  Any money you make through fundraising will be applied to your account.  Any amount of money made from fundraising over the total cost of the trip will be refunded and can be used as spending money on the trip.

Please join the Washington Remind group to be sure you get all announcements regarding our trip.
