Colquitt County High School HOSA Club is making a national impact through its commitment to service and healthcare, earning one of the highest honors presented for student-led blood drive recruitment.
CCHS HOSA was selected as a National Recipient of the Blood Drive Recruitment Award, presented jointly by America’s Blood Centers (ABC) and HOSA-Future Health Professionals. Representing Georgia HOSA, CCHS was one of only two HOSA chapters nationwide selected to receive this honor.
The award goes beyond simply meeting donor or collection benchmarks. This award recognizes chapters demonstrating excellence in three main areas, number of blood units collected, recruitment of first-time donors, and innovative, student-led efforts to promote blood donation.
Through its partnership with OneBlood, CCHS HOSA students have worked to engage their peers and school community in blood drives while raising awareness about the importance of donating blood. Their efforts have helped turn student leadership into a meaningful service opportunity that directly supports patients and families in need.
This national recognition highlights the dedication of CCHS HOSA students to serving their community and making a difference in the lives of others, while gaining valuable experience in leadership, healthcare and service along the way.
