Together, we've made a significant impact on student attendance! Over the past two years, Colquitt County School District has reduced chronic absenteeism by 10.3 percentage points, dropping from 25.4% in 2024 to 15.1% in 2026.
At Colquitt County School District, our message is simple: Attendance Matters. Attend Daily. On Time. All Day. Every school day provides valuable opportunities for learning, building relationships, and developing the skills students need for future success. Missing even a few days of school can make it harder for students to stay on track academically and socially.
This achievement didn't happen by chance; it happened because our schools came together with a shared commitment to ensuring students are present, engaged, and ready to learn. Each school developed creative incentives that encouraged students to show up every day, including movie days, popcorn and ice cream socials, Kona Ice, pizza parties, popsicle celebrations, Blow Pops, and more.
While the rewards were fun, the real prize is the opportunity for students to learn, grow, and succeed. Every day in the classroom creates new opportunities, and this progress shows what we can accomplish when we work as ONE. By partnering with families, supporting students, and creating positive school experiences, we continue to build a culture where showing up every day is valued and celebrated.
To help make planning a little easier, we've created this Appointment & Vacation Planner as a quick reference for the 2026–2027 school year. Whenever possible, schedule vacations, wellness visits, and other appointments during school holidays and breaks to help minimize missed instructional time.
